Pre-K
Pre-K students experience printing, painting, drawing, gluing, collaging, cutting with scissors and working with clay. Projects are fun, challenging and visually engaging.
The Veiled Chameleon Dot Painting introduces color, pattern and the development of control over the painting materials.
The Flower Drawing allows students to observe from life, discuss shapes and choose colors.
The Eggs in a Nest Collage invites students to practice cutting paper, adding color and pattern to their shapes and managing liquid glue.
The Hen and Chick Stencil Printing Project is a multi-step activity which involves printing shapes and colors and then adding fine details in the form of simple lines and shapes.
Pre-K students contribute to installations, mobiles and bulletin boards, working as a collective to enhance our learning space. The Autumn Leaves Mixed Media Collage helped to develop fine motor skills and invited discussions about the changing of the seasons.
This Popsicle Stick Fairy Door Project (in progress) allowed Pre-K students to practice handing a variety of art materials. Students experienced mixing primary colors and carefully applying paint. They further decorated the doors with a bead for the door knob, glitter glue and spangles.
